HITIT is created in 1994 in Paris with an objective to promote Anatolian music abroad.

HITIT works with music festivals, cultural centres, concert halls ans theaters in France and in the world and presents them with a wide range of selected traditional music bands from Turkey and the Balkans.

HITIT is a financially independant art establishment. The organizational expenses of the bands are covered by the bodies holding the concerts.
HITIT also promotes bands from abroad at the festivals and the cultural centres in Turkey. It organized the concerts of some musicians known worldwide like Cesaria Evora for Is Sanat, Salvatore Adamo for Yapi Kredi Festival. HITIT collaborates with different cultural institutions in Turkey from time to time.
The musicians that HITIT works with on a regular basis and promotes are:  GÜLCAN KAYA, KUMPANYA ISTANBUL, HASAN YARIMDÜNYA, EGE HI'JAZZ ORCHESTRA, BIROL TOPALOGLU, KASTAMONU KÖÇEK TOPLULUGU, DERVICHES TOURNEURS D'ISTANBUL, DILEK KOC, ÖNDER FOCAN...
